Tastings Group

Vea, Quinary, Room 309, Origin - Hong Kong | 2019-present

Occasionally as a food photographer in Hong Kong (but not as often as you might think), you will get the chance to work with a client with a razor sharp vision but also one who gives a lot of latitude to create and give input on visuals. That is why I have been so happy to work with Tastings Group on shaping these images for their various pop-ups and four hands events at Vea, Room 309, Quinary and more.

On the way I have had the chance to work around some world famous chefs, like Bongkoch 'Bee' Satongun of Paste and Hiroyasu Kawate of Tokyo's Florilège, not to mention Vea’s own Vicky Cheng.

To me, the thought of capturing food on the cusp on an actual service, seems almost more thrilling than the overly-managed style of fabricated shooting favoured by so many restaurateurs. That’s what still feels fresh and exciting about this line of work - sculpting a bespoke mood for a client who demands the best.
